Ephesians 6:1-4
We are told as fathers not to exasperate our children. The definition of “exasperate” according to freedictionary.com: Make very angry or impatient; annoy greatly. Wow! That sounds like what our children do to us! Our kids do things and say things that just make us want to pull our hair out, scream, yell, and make us go gray. However, if we would look at it from God’s point of view, we as adults should make Him feel the same way! But He doesn’t feel that way; He is the infinite “patience” master. He isn’t easily annoyed and praise be to Him, (Numbers 14:18) “The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion.” We are told (v. 4) “bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” When we go to scripture, seek guidance from other brothers or sisters in Christ, and relate to our children and their behavior the way our heavenly father relates to us, we will start to model the Christ that is in each one of us. Happy Father’s day! God loves Ya;)
