1 Thessalonians 5:15-22 (NLT)
I can’t remember where I heard this quote before but I think it is a sentence in a country song. It goes something like, “don’t let your mind out think your common sense”. These days, we are told so often we must have open minds and be tolerant of everybody and everything no matter what. To me, that equals chaos. This open mindedness leaves you with no convictions, values or principles to stand on. We Christians cannot fall into this trap. We can be tolerant and we should be – but not to the extent where we lose our own Godly moral values. God gave us common sense for a reason and if something doesn’t feel right and doesn’t line up with God’s word, then we should not adhere to the worldly ways. We can disagree with others in a loving way, but we should never open our minds so much that we lose our brains or go against our faith; “but test everything; hold fast to what is good.” (Vs.18) Always ask God what He thinks. God Loves Ya 😉
