Philippians 3:12-21
I was listening to a brother in Christ speak to a football team the other day and he talked about being perfect. He wasn’t referring to being perfect in worldly standards, but being perfect in the standards of God. He was reminding these young men that their past does not define who they are, but to use the past to sharpen them into whom Christ wants them to be. We can’t let the evil and the negative things in this world crush who we are in Christ. We are the children of the living God, we are wonderfully made in His image, and we are heirs to the King of Kings, Lord of Lords. We have won the battle; we just have to live like it. We have to use our past mistakes and turn them into meaningful learning experiences. Eph 2:3-5 NIV, “Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved.” We are all far from perfect but we must press on and strive for that perfection through Christ who strengthens us. Fight the good fight and learn from the past. God Loves Ya;)
