Have you ever heard someone say, “I believe in God but I don’t need to go to church”? I know I have, especially in the younger generations. And now, it is probably even easier for Christians to claim this with easier access to online bible studies, Bible apps, online church services, etc. These are all wonderful tools to help us develop and foster our relationship with Christ…but what about the responsibility we have to our fellow brothers and sisters? God calls those who believe in him to be part of one body, His body. Paul depicts this in our scripture today. “For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.” (1 Corinthians 12:12) This body today forms the church. There may be things that try and prevent us from going to a physical church, but we must remember the other ‘parts of our body’. We may think we don’t need church, but what about that one person that may have needed something the Holy Spirit placed in you to help them? Or what about the need of the church that we may be able to fulfill in order to help serve others? Church is a way through which we can experience fellowship, love, encouragement and support all while worshipping and serving our heavenly Father together as one body. God is good 😉
