Time flies, in a blink of an eye, time slips by…these all refer to the brevity of life that our scripture speaks of today. Psalms 90:12 says “Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.” This smacked me in the face this weekend when I realized one of my daughters is going to be 18 this year. It seems like just yesterday we were walking around our neighborhood laughing, giggling and having a good time while she was riding on my back. The wisdom David is talking about in this verse is the things we learn as we grow older. Oh how I would have done things differently raising my soon to be 18 year old, but praise God she is turning into a beautiful, godly lady. Time is short; we have to make sure we use every minute to work for the kingdom and love our families. I am reminded of Tim McGraw’s song “Live Like You Were Dying”. Let us love a little deeper, laugh a little louder and be there for someone that has no one else. Time goes fast my friends; use every day like it’s your last and never forget God Loves Ya;)
