Luke 9:23-24 (NIV)
“Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.  For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it”. (Luke 9:23-24) Are we willing to be honest enough with ourselves to ask the question, “What does it mean to take up the cross of Christ daily?” Perhaps even more honestly, are we willing to act upon what we discover that cross to be? The Gospel reminds us it is not about how Jesus is called to serve us; it is about how we are called to serve Jesus. Jesus pushes us beyond a “what’s-in-it-for-me-only” type of faith. We are to reach people, share the love of Jesus, and share the good news to eternal life. It’s just that Jesus wants us to do it His way, rather than our way. God Loves Ya 😉
