They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of …” Honestly, does it really matter what she was caught doing? She was caught, without need of greater evidence or further debate. Have you ever been caught? Exposed without any room to explain or reason your way out? Friends, what is so amazing is that even though there are many who are consumed with “accusing”, “judging” or even “executing” people based upon their worst moments, an encounter with Jesus is absolutely different; He can see the best of you and the future He has for you. When was the last time you brought your embarrassments, failings or mistakes before Jesus? Jesus is not interested in catching you in your sin, your past or even the consequences of your mistakes. Jesus wants to catch you in His grace and forgiveness. Jesus says to each of us on our worst days and during our worst situations, “I do not condemn you … go and leave your life of sin.” Today, walk in the confidence that you are not being judged upon who you were, who you are, or even who you are going to be. Everyone who has an encounter with Jesus is judged based upon what Jesus did on the cross. Paul reminds us of our truth, “God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” Stay Close to Jesus. – Pastor Bryce
