Proverbs 17:22

We’ve all had days where even getting out of bed is a chore. Full of gloom, feeling of being stuck in neutral, living paycheck to paycheck, same old routine day after day. It can wear you down for sure. I call these “pity parties” and I seem to have these more often lately – especially over the holidays and the New Year. For Christmas this year, I was given a great book of daily devotions filled with inspiration and hope and mainly focusing on the joy of the Lord. After reading a few of these passages, I realized how foolish I am when the pity parties begin. I know Satan is full of lies telling me and filling my head with “oh woe is me” stuff. God wants us to choose joy every time. He does not want us miserable and merely existing in this life; He wants us to be full of excitement and ever ready when He says “let’s go!” Let’s brush off the discouragement and embrace the life we have in all its goodness while we remember to appreciate that God has us exactly where He wants us. I am choosing joy! Have a blessed day! 🙂
