While driving home from work today, the song “Clean” by Natalie Grant came on the radio. I had heard this song before but had never really tuned into what the lyrics were saying. Today they were crystal clear and pierced my heart. “There’s nothing too dirty. That you can’t make worthy. You wash me in mercy. I am clean.” There are times where even as a believer, I feel like I am unworthy. Like I am not doing enough to honor God and that I disappoint Him. The truth is we all sin and we all need God’s mercy. He loves us so much that He wants us to live new in Him. He wants to restore us piece by piece. He gave His only Son up as a sacrifice to give us new life and to wipe our slates clean. “Washed in the blood of Your sacrifice. Your blood flowed red and made me white. My dirty rags are purified. I am clean.” Take your “dirty rags” to Christ and let His grace and mercy flow over you. You are worthy. God is good 😉
