Death Eater
Sin is bad. It hurts other people, our relationships, ourselves, and our relationship with God. Why then, if sin is so bad, do we knowingly stare sin in its face and choose to “indulge” ourselves? Because from the outside sin looks desirable, better than doing the right thing. That big mouthwatering cookie tasted amazing until your mom, who told you not to eat it, found you with chocolate smeared all over your mouth. These temptations are not going to go away, but neither is the solution. Sirius Black once told Harry Potter; “We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.” Our light is Jesus Christ; center yourself on him and you will have eternal life. Center yourself on sin, the dark inside of you, and you will be fighting a losing battle for the temporary, much like the Death Eaters. “We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 6: 9-11) Lauren Taylor
