Mark 4:1-20, Isaiah 42:18-25
I have been told that I have (and know my children have) this thing called ‘selective hearing’. According to wisegeek.org, “Selective hearing is a way of describing the tendency of some people to ignore things that they don’t want to hear. It is not a physiological condition, as the individuals are physically hearing the words, but their minds choose not to acknowledge what is being said.”  Does this sound familiar? This happens to all of us from time to time. But do we have selective hearing when it comes to God speaking to us? The Holy Spirit is in us to guide us to God’s will; however, we are usually guided by our own intellect and pride. Every time God’s word is proclaimed, it changes all of those who hear. No one ever remains unaffected by God’s word. To those who hear it positively, there is growth in grace. To those who reject it or are indifferent to it, the mystery of the kingdom becomes more and more obscure.”He who has ears to hear, let him hear” (Mark 4:9). Be a ‘selective hearer’ of God’s word! God Loves Ya;)
