How many of us think that since we are a Christian, life should be a little easier? Many of us may not want to admit it but we may get tempted into believing this false understanding. If anything, we will be attacked more by the devil and other “worldly evils” as we become stronger in Christ. But, as in today’s scripture depicts, God has given certain ways to protect ourselves against the enemy. The word of God is one of the major “pieces of armor” in defending ourselves. In Judges 8, Gideon’s army continues to pursuit the fight for God’s people though they are exhausted. As a Christian and believer in our salvation through Jesus Christ, we will always have “battles” to fight until God comes to earth. We will continue to fight the good fight to win people for Jesus Christ. “Let us not tire of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.” (Galatians 6:9) God is good 😉
