The story of the Good Samaritan has many lessons to be learned; however, I want to focus on the phrase “Get off your donkey”. Some would say, and I agree, that reaching out to help someone in need is a lot riskier than doing nothing. How many times do you see a person in need and just ignore them and keep moving on? I understand how risky it is to stop and help; it’s uncomfortable and one could say overwhelming to get off our donkey (comfort zone) and help. Jesus calls us to help and love others. He didn’t say, only if you feel comfortable doing it. That Samaritan took a significant risk to help a man in need but did it anyhow; that is what love looks like. Friend, this world needs more people to get off their donkeys and help. Let us get out of our comfort zones and bless someone. God Loves Ya 😉
