The Psalmist declares, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble”. (Ps. 46:1) Although all of us experience difficult seasons that feel like long dark nights, this verse explains that God is willing to wait together with us during the darkness and help bring rest till the dawn arrives. What a wonderful image it is that God is “my ever-present help in trouble”. Friends, I am learning that God is present when I seek Him and especially when I need Him. Even when I lack presence of mind, God is ever present with me.  There is no denying that instability arises in our lives and the essence of this verse is that God is our transcendent stability, when other things we have trusted in begin to shake, move and wobble. I am realizing more and more that God’s answer to our pain or long dark night is not a perfectly worded devotional, it is not a sermon or a theory or a book you need to read. God’s answer to your long dark night is a Person and His name is Jesus.  This morning, fix your gaze on him whose death can set you free. Embrace him as you wait for the new dawn in your life. He is waiting here with you. Stay close to Jesus. – Pastor Bryce
