Philippians 3:15-21
A dear friend of mine is moving back to her home town. She is very excited and full of anticipation. Every time we speak, one can hear the eagerness and desire of familiarity in her tone, a sense of over whelming joy can be heard. Her joy makes me think of the song by Mercy Me “I can only imagine”. I am not sure how I will act when I finally meet my maker. “For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known” (1 Corinthians 13:12). Until then I can imagine the joy and excitement and possibly even the fear of facing the one that created everybody and everything. He knew us from the start; “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart” (Jeremiah 1:5). It is a comfort to know that one day we will be going to a place where we are known and loved. I pray that we can all feel the way my friend does about going home; back to our hometown, where we belong, where we feel freedom, contentment and joy. God loves Ya;)
