Proverbs 27:7
Good things come to those who wait. This is what I told one of my roommates the other day as I guzzled down two tall glasses of water after a long day walking around a hot zoo with overpriced beverages. The cool water meeting my dry lips was more pleasurable than it would have been in the zoo because my need for it had increased. There is a verse in Proverbs that goes like this; “One who is full loathes honey, but to one who is hungry everything bitter is sweet” (27:7). What I draw from this passage is that we must wait for God’s timing in every aspect of our lives. It’s hard to wait. You want what you want in the here and now but the fact of the matter is that God’s timing is perfect, more perfect than our timing could ever be. We must wait until we are truly hungry so that are satisfaction is a hundred fold. Let us wait and experience the full weight of the goodness God can give us. – Lauren Taylor
