2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NLT)
“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

During times when I am broken, I am often found face-down begging God to make me whole. Times like hearing of the cancer or the death of loved ones or the brokenness that tells me no one will ever need me. When I am at this place, I also find that I try and push people away because I am so ashamed and feel as if I am a failure – so useless and worthless. A few weeks ago as I sat realizing that this was a lie, I smiled realizing that God loves me as I am because I am created in His loving image. To my surprise, God showed me that what I have faced is all for His glory. He reminded me that I will not bless others by strengths and successes, but instead through showing how He got me through my failures and weaknesses. Wow! So remember in your broken, weak times, God will see you through too!! — SW
