John 14:12-14
LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Walter Payton, Peyton Manning – do these names sound familiar? For most of us they do. These men are pillars or models of what can be accomplished within that sport; one can say they set the benchmark. Not to put a lot of emphasis on athletes here, but want to make a point about greatness; without people doing terrific things or great things there would be no clarity of what can be accomplished. If we look at all the greats in the Bible; Paul, Timothy, the 12 disciples, Saul, David, Solomon and of course we can’t forget Abraham – they were ordinary people that did great things. These people set a benchmark of what we can accomplish and what we can do. ” I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12) – this our Lord and Savior said. Let us not settle for mediocrity, but let us strive to reach the benchmark that is set before us. Many great spiritual people accomplished so much through Christ who gives us strength; why not set out for greatness in Christ and do as much as he would allow us or wants us to do. You are a great creation of Jesus Christ, now go show it! God Loves Ya;)
