Philippians 4:11,12
I have recently returned to my “home” church after venturing out and seeing if I may be happier or more content at a different church. I was gone for a year and a half from my home church mainly due to the feeling of being unfed. I had become dull and my pastor had begun to sound similiar to Charlie Brown’s teacher. Ya know? “Wah wah wah?” I started missing my church family the last year I was attending this new church. I really felt disconnected and was starting to skip Sundays more often and I was noticing a difference in myself. I have never taken God out of my heart or life, but something just wasn’t right. So, after pondering for a few months, I decided to return full force back into my “home church” once again. Welcomed with open arms, I immediately felt like I was back home; like Dorothy said in the Wizard of Oz, “There’s no place like home”. Yes, sometimes the grass looks greener on the other side, but most of the time it’s because we haven’t cultivated, watered or fed our own grass. Everything has a season. If you have become dull and feel like you need a change, please pray first and ask God what is missing in your life. Have a blessed day! 🙂
