As soon as I sent a text message from my phone, I realized “Oops, I should have responded differently.” How often have you had a conversation with someone or replied to a text message and then later wanted to take back what you said? In today’s quickly paced society it so easy to make snap decisions without seeking God’s wisdom. We may feel the pressure to respond immediately to a text, e-mail, or Facebook post without praying first on how to respond. What would it look like if we were to HALT and pray asking God to grant wisdom and guidance for us to answer? Proverbs 8:33 tells us; “Listen to my instruction and be wise, do not ignore it.” If you’re feeling Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired, let us HALT and pray before responding. Halting before responding may feel uncomfortable because it is unnatural in the rhythm of this world. “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14). May we continue to seek His wisdom; listen and wait for His instructions so we may respond in ways that are pleasing to Him. God loves ya! 🙂 – Melissa Lundy
