2 Corinthians 5:17
Well here we are again; another year has passed and we are sitting at the threshold of a brand new one. We can look back at all the things we have accomplished or the things we haven’t; the tears and sorrows or the happy and joyous events that have occurred. We can’t change or perhaps don’t want to change what has happened this past year or what could have been. So today we plow forward to a new and exciting year ahead. For the Christian, this means NO matter what comes our way this year, we know everything will be okay and we will make it through. We have the hope of Christ and God’s promises to rely on. “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17NLT). We know the trials and tribulations of this world can’t keep us down because we have the promise in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Our year looks bright and it will be – for the old has gone and the New Year and new you have begun and nothing can stop what God wants for us.
