Read- 1 John 2:3-11; Matthew 5:14-16
Jesus declared in Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of the world”. What an amazing statement! We are light. We have the ability to illuminate, enlighten, bring direction, radiate warmth, cause things to grow, cause things to live, and most importantly, to dispel darkness! It’s amazing when you think about all the things that light can do. Your words, your touch, your love, your life, all empowered and enabled by the power of the Holy Spirit, can dispel the darkness in another’s life. The word “love” is mentioned over 200 times in the New Testament alone…meaning it is a tool that we are to use to overcome the darkness that is in the world. We read in (1 Corinthians 13:6) “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” In other words “Love does not delight in darkness but rejoices in the light”. We are to love our enemies, our neighbors, friends, etc. “We love because he first loved us.” (1 John4:19). Let us dispel darkness with the love that God gave us. God loves Ya;)
