Isaiah 43:1
Often I find myself asking a family member or a friend, “Who wants to go for a walk?” While walking side by side, we begin talking…Our time together is one on one. We are able to engage in personal conversations and enjoy each other’s company. We talk about our day, vent out our frustrations, solve the problems of the world (or so we think) laugh together and listen to one another. Not only are the benefits of walking together a physical benefit; they are also emotionally uplifting. Together we become emotionally and physically fit. While walking and talking, I’m reminded of how Jesus walks with us. The lyrics to the hymn “He Walks with Me” are comforting to hear, “He walks with me and He talks with me and He tells me I am His own.” As you go about your day, may you know that whatever you are facing today, you are not alone…Jesus is walking beside you, He is talking to you. You are His own. “I have called you by name, you are mine” (Isaiah 43:1) May you hear His voice and enjoy your walk and talk together today.
