Matthew 6:9-13
If you are a church goer, the Lord’s Prayer is usually recited at some point during the service. Many times this prayer, which the Lord taught his disciples, becomes just another mantra or tradition that we just do without much thought or feeling. There are studies out there that break down this prayer and the meanings of its words; I encourage you to check it out. When we pray “Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”, we are not resigning ourselves to fate, but praying that God’s perfect purpose will be accomplished in this world as well as the next. This is where we come in; we hear all the time that we are to be the hands and feet of Christ. This is how God’s will is to be done on earth. We are to be obedient to His will and serve the ones that need God’s love or perhaps don’t know that His love even exists. We are to feed the hungry and poor, take care of the widows and orphans and to help our brothers and sisters that are going through trials and tribulations. So let us accomplish His goal and assist in making His will “be done on earth as it is in heaven”. God Loves Ya;)
