For Christmas, my mom got me a bracelet that says, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13). This is not the first time I’ve heard the verse. In fact this is my favorite Bible verse. Every night before our family ends prayers, my mom says, “Tomorrow we can wake up feeling refreshed and renewed knowing we are all your children and can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, Amen.” I’ve also seen the verse above our treadmill. I think it means a lot to my mom when she’s running. You need a lot of strength and will to run. Before game time or big tests, or whenever I’m worried, I always say the verse in my head and it helps me stay calm and not worried. I first learned the Bible verse at church camp, Camp Penn. Then later on my choir director, Mrs. Choate taught us a song to remember the verse. I LOVE the verse because it assures me that God looks out for me and is with me wherever I am. He gives me the strength and courage to do His will. So as you go about your day today, remember you are a child of God and can do ALL things through Christ who gives you strength.- Elizabeth Lundy (Age-11)
