Jonah 4:1-11
Every single one of us are wrestlers when it comes to our will and God’s will. Jonah was surrendered to the law of God and what God could do for Jonah in Jonah’s life, but he had never surrendered to what God was up to in the world. The danger of being a moral and a good person is that we become so self-absorbed that religion becomes all about us. Have we ever completely surrendered?  Have we ever said, “God I surrender to your purposes in the world and whatever that means for my life”? What is God saying here?  What are we left with? “Jonah…you are concerned about all the wrong stuff.” Some among us do this wonderfully strange thing where you offer yourself and your resources and your skills to intersect with God’s  purpose in the world.
