Just Be
While driving into town the other day, I passed a house where a young boy was driving around the yard on a four wheeler. I looked and saw dad, sitting on the front porch staring into his phone. How quickly something tragic could have happened to the boy or simply the boy could look at his father and think, “Am I not more important than whatever is on that phone?” In our fast paced culture, it can be hard to take the time to “just be”. To slow things down and focus on the important things around us, like our children or our spouses. Technology has provided us with various avenues of busying ourselves – preoccupying our minds to prevent boredom. How often do we grab for our phone in a waiting room or grab for our phones as soon as we wake up in the morning? More than likely we are missing quiet moments in where God may be trying to speak to us and we are too busy or preoccupied to listen. Is God asking us, “Am I important enough?” Continually failing to notice or pay attention to God will lead us down the wrong path. We will continue to make more room in our lives for the pleasures of this world instead of taking the time to listen to God who is more worried about our eternal lives. He longs to communicate with you. All we have to do is be still and listen. God is good 😉
