John, one of Jesus’ closest disciples, tells us in 1 John 4:11, “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another”. In the sentence, I LOVE YOU, there is a subject, a verb or action and an object. When God says to us, “I love you”, He is the actor or subject, love is the action and we are the receiver or object of His love. In the verse noted above, as a result of God loving us, we are to now love one another. Who is your other? Friends, if we are to love as God loved us, we must have an object that is the receiver of our love. This type of love is called “Agape” and it always requires an object in order to be complete agape love. This week look for others to love. This love will not just be a love that feels good, but a love that causes you and I to give of ourselves in a way that benefits the person we love more than it might benefit us personally. Stay Close to Jesus. – Pastor Bryce
