What if I told you that love includes hate and discrimination? Romans 12:9 explains, “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good”. We are called to love without hypocrisy and abhor evil, as we cleave to what is good. Within these words we are instructed to shrink back from anything that is evil, wicked or injurious to ourselves or someone else. Although we do not often think about it, we can become comfortable with evil by tolerating it around us and even possibly participating in it. We are told to HATE evil, so there is no room to allow any level of acceptance of it in our lives. Wherever you identify it, work to run away from evil as quickly as you can. We are also told to cling to good stuff. Here is where we have discrimination in the midst of love. As followers of Jesus we need to discern between what is evil and what is good. One we are told to run from and one we are told to run towards. Friends, in your life find what is good and pursue it. This week as you love, hate what is evil and cling to what is good. Stay close to Jesus. Pastor Bryce
