1 Corinthians 13:4-13
1 Corinthians 13 gives a long list of attributes of actual love: patient, kind, not jealous, not prideful, not arrogant, not selfish, not provoked, not vengeful, not about me! This kind of love shows value in putting aside your own feelings for the sake of another; I think that when we practice this kind of love we are shown a deeper, more satisfying type of fulfillment and ultimately, happiness. But you have to risk not being instantly gratified to attain it. This kind of love is ultimately self-sacrificial and we do not get a guarantee with it. When you invest yourself so completely in learning and practicing the kind of love God has shown us, you put yourself at incredible risk. You see, Jesus Christ is the teacher of this kind of love. In knowing Jesus Christ we are able to learn how to love like Jesus. In the very end we can be sure that because of our relationship with Jesus we will spend eternity in the loving embrace of our heavenly Father and in knowing this, in turn gives us the ability to Love our valentine like Jesus would want us to. Happy Valentine’s Day!! God Loves Ya;)
