Psalms 34: 17-20
A man is walking along the street and all of a sudden, he falls into a deep hole that he can’t get out of no matter how much he jumps and tries to climb. He starts yelling up to the passersby, “Hey can you get me out of this hole?” After a while, a doctor walks by and hears the man’s cries; he writes a prescription and tosses it down the hole. A little while after, a drunkard stumbles by and hears him; he tosses his bottle of alcohol down the hole. Finally, the man sees a friend looking down at him and the man yells, “Can you help me?” So the friend jumps down the hole to his friend. The man says, “Why did you do that? Now neither of us can get out of here?” and the friend says, “I have been here before and know the way to get out.” Many times in our life, we find ourselves in holes – where it looks like there is no way out and we try all sorts of risky and possible dangerous ways to get rescued. We need to realize we have the answer to our salvation – the one that has been there all along. Our friend, Father and Lord Jesus Christ rescued us over 2,000 years ago and all we have to do is call on His name; with trust and obedience we can climb out of that hole in life to safety. God Loves Ya 😉
