Psalm 118:5 says, “When hard pressed, I cried to the LORD; he brought me into a spacious place”. This verse describes the dawn to the morning after a long, dark night. Over the last several weeks, we have been walking through various Psalms and watching the Psalmist come through, with God’s help, difficult points in his life. Psalm 118 is the victory lap and the clear recognition that God has brought him into a “spacious place” of rest and peace. How about you? After being in a tight spot desperately crying out to God, do you recognize when God has brought you out and given you peace and comfort? Once we are in the wide open space, what do we do with the space, comfort and peace? We must live as ones living in the light of day, as opposed to continuing to behave as if we are still in the long, dark night. Today, as you and I live in the grace and peace of Jesus, remember what God did for you during one of the more recent long, dark nights in your soul. Reminding ourselves of His goodness, will certainly help us to
trust God the next time we enter the dusk of a new night ahead. Stay close to Jesus. – Pastor Bryce
