“Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness that God requires” (James 1:19–20). Wow is this an issue for me! It doesn’t take much for me to go off the handle and I must ask myself why? Many times, when someone is talking to me, I already am thinking of what I want to say to them. I’m not really listening or trying to understand their point of view. I just have my point of view and I am always right! However, I know deep down, very few times I am right, but my ego won’t let me admit it. Folks, as hard as it is for many of us, we need to listen and be slow to respond and slow to anger. I am slowly starting to understand things go a lot easier and get resolved with less conflict when this happens. When we just listen and don’t go off the handle all the time, we might get more accomplished and many relationships will be saved. We are told to love each other like Christ loves us. That includes listening and not flying off the handle. God Loves Ya 😉
