Leviticus 19:32, Ephesians 6:2
Growing up, I spent time every day with my grandfathers. I didn’t always appreciate that time together. For the past eight years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for the elderly in their homes. It may be for a day or sometimes over a year. I may be holding their hand and praying as they take their last breath or listening to stories and laughing with them. No matter the situation, I always show them compassion and respect; not because it’s my job but because that’s what Christ calls me to do. In the business of life we sometimes forget to spare a moment for the elders in our lives. We take for granted they will always be there. This week you may have the chance to visit an elderly person or help them do something that is difficult for them to do. Don’t let the opportunity pass you by. I guarantee your life will be blessed as much or more than you are blessing theirs. God Loves Ya! 😉 Karen Chappell
