Psalm 91:4
When I feel overwhelmed or like I just want to give up, I think of just crawling in my bed, pulling the covers up over myself and drowning out the world. Sometimes I need to drown out my own thoughts and just surrender and let go. There in that moment and in that space, I feel safe and protected. I can cry and my tears will be soaked up in the pillows and blankets around me. I can scream and the sounds will be muffled. While reading today’s scripture, I can imagine God’s large arms draping over me like wings, providing a refuge for my tired and broken heart while soaking up all of my tears and hurt. When the weight of the world comes crashing down on you and all you want to do is give up, let His presence surround you and provide a sanctuary where you can let go and allow Him to renew your mind, body and soul. God is good 😉
