Philippians 4:2-9 James 5:13-18
Prayer is a serious matter whether you realize it or not. We are reminded in Philippians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” If we don’t take prayer seriously then why should God take us seriously? We shouldn’t only say prayers word-for-word like zombies, but be intentional, humble and contrite when we are in conversation with the Lord. Jesus gave us an example on how to pray in Matthew 6:5-13 at the same time he warns us not to babble on and on but to be serious and to the point when we pray. God knows what we are in need of before we even ask. But He wants that relationship with us. Our prayer life is very important as we read in James 5:13 “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. Serious prayer equals a serious relationship with the creator of all. God loves Ya;)
