Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
For most of us, our daily lives are filled with work, school, kids, laundry, cooking, cleaning, carpooling and so many other things that keep us going nonstop. We’re tired, anxious, and stressed out by the end of the day. We sit in front of the TV or computer to wind down and try to find a little peace and quiet in our lives. If you’re like me, you either fall asleep or work on the list of things you need to do the next day, but you never truly find any “rest”. One night at work I read a plaque that reminded me of how to get rid of that feeling of being overwhelmed by life. It said ‘Before you go to bed, give your cares to God. He will be up all night anyway.’ What a simple solution! Every night, pray and give your day over to God. Give Him your anger, sadness, frustrations, and anything else that keeps you from finding peace. God will take it all from you and give you the rest you need to face whatever the world throws at you each day. – Karen Chappell
