Mark 3:31-35
Coming from a very dysfunctional family with a drunk abusive father made knowing what a family is difficult to comprehend and understand. However, after years of fellow-shipping and being mentored by Christian brothers and sisters in Christ, a view of true family came full circle. Jesus tells His disciples in Mark 3:31-35, “Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him. They stood outside and sent word for him to come out and talk with them. There was a crowd sitting around Jesus, and someone said, “Your mother and your brothers are outside asking for you.” Jesus replied, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” Then he looked at those around him and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers. Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” Jesus wasn’t minimizing His earthly family, but was demonstrating to the crowd that if you are a believer in Him and do God’s will, you are a member of a very special family for all eternity. So if you had a family like mine, always know you are now a member of a special family that has the greatest father of all. You are His child and He loves you deeply. God Loves Ya 😉
