John 15:1-17
In today scripture Jesus says, “I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” (John 15:11) Jesus defines joy in Jesus terms instead of human terms. Jesus talks about a joy that is based not on circumstance but on relationship. This is a joy that defines our reality rather than our reality defining our joy. Joy comes from the Greek word “Khar-ah” meaning: (calm delight). Jesus was self-less, ever-giving, and, at times, weary. Yet, his life was one of immeasurable joy. The gospel is joy! Believers in Christ regain the joy we were created to have! When hearts are changed by Christ, the world’s standards of happiness become reordered. Sometimes all we hear are the demands and the emphasis to give, and we miss the point that through Jesus these are invitations to share the good news and joy. Spread the joy!! God Loves Ya;)
