Experiencing God

H. and R. Blackaby and C. King

Coming to Christ is much simpler than the diagram shows. However, the journey does not end with accepting Christ; it is just the beginning of an incredible adventure.  Being a follower of Christ is not a sprint, it is a marathon; pacing the race, until the day God calls you home.

How does God work when you become saved through the blood of Christ?

1.  God is always at work around you.

2.  God pursues a continuing love relationship with you that is real and personal.

3.  God invites you to become involved with Him in His work.

4.  God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways.

5.   God’s invitation for you to work with Him always leads you to a crisis of belief that  requires faith and action.

6.   You must make major adjustments in your life to join God in what he is doing.

7.   You come to know God by experience as you obey Him and He accomplishes His work through you.

This list may seem a little intimidating but it all boils down to Love.  Just the very fact you are reading this page is proof that you are here for a reason. That reason is God.  He is calling you to believe in Him, to step into your predestined place and be one of His children.

God loves you no matter where you are in life or what you have done.  Christianity is more than a religion.  It is a relationship with a living God, a God that has come down the ladder and reached out to us so that we don’t have to climb up the ladder to meet Him.  He comes to us.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

God has given you a great gift.  However this gift was not given to you totally free.  Jesus Christ, the son of God became flesh and walked among us.  He paid for your sins so that your destiny may be eternal life in God’s Kingdom.  Jesus was tortured, humiliated, scourged, mocked and hung on a cross to pay for every sin that humanity has ever committed past, present and future.

How Can I have a Personal Relationship With Jesus?

Find a quiet place and say this prayer alone or with someone and mean it with all your heart.

Salvation Prayer

Dear God in Heaven,

I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.

I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.

You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.

Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.

Thank- you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore, Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.  Thank- you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.
Amen.

If you just said this prayer, repented for your sins and meant it with all your heart; as Christians, we believe you are now saved and are born again.  You may ask, “Now that I am saved, what’s next?”

First, you need to attend a Bible-based church to hear God’s Word. Once you have found a church home, you will want to find a small group to study God’s word with other believers. You will need encouragement, inspiration and others to walk with you on your journey with Christ.

God never said it was easy following Him but it is worth it. He is always with you and will never abandon you.  God’s love is all around us.   You are His child and He is your Father for eternity.

God bless you on your decision to follow Christ.  As brothers and sisters in Christ, we welcome you into God’s family. Please share your good news with us so we can be in prayer for you by filling the form below.
