Haggai 1:1-12
In today’s culture, we find it hard to take time out during our day to have some quiet time. Many of us go from task to task, filling our schedules with various things to do. Even in the down times, we are preoccupied with cell phones, tablets, handheld game systems, iPods, etc. I know I am personally guilty of this. I often find myself thinking that it is too “quiet” around me and feel a need to play music or have the television on in the background. What we don’t realize is that we are making ourselves too busy to do what God is calling us to do. We even shut out his voice by filling every moment with a task or some “noise”, making our minds unavailable to hear Him. May we recognize when we are making ourselves “unavailable” to God and stop focusing on building up our own houses. We need to listen, make ourselves available, and start building up the house of God. God is good 😉
