The Apostle Paul explains to a young follower of Jesus named Timothy, “the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others”. 2 Timothy 2:2 In other words, what we believe about Jesus MUST be shared with others. True followers of Jesus, also known as disciples, have a strong desire to help other people hear the truth about Jesus and then pursue their own personal relationship with Jesus. This past Sunday, my friend, Dennis Leon from Costa Rica, shared an illustration that described two different types of people within the local church. Dennis explained that there are often tourists of Jesus or followers of Jesus. It is okay to initially be a tourist, checking out the surroundings at Church, exploring the artifacts and history of the Church and even passively observing the behaviors of other people in the church, but at some point, we all need to become followers of Jesus and begin to do that which Jesus did. Jesus called people toward the truth and invited them to participate in the building of His father’s kingdom. Ask yourself this morning, “Do I still have the binoculars on, the camera around my neck and the safari hat on, or am I committed to participating in building the Kingdom of God by sharing the truth of Jesus Christ with other people?” Stay Close to Jesus – Pastor Bryce
