Genesis 37:34-35
Have you gone through something recently that has caused you to refuse comfort? Maybe losing a loved one where you are so overcome with grief that you let it consume you? In today’s scripture, Jacob experiences these same feelings upon hearing of Joseph’s death. Refusing comfort did not change his situation, it only prolonged his suffering. We can rest in knowing that if we allow Him, God is the ultimate comforter. “God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) God is good 😉
