Galatians 6:7-9 (NIV)
The false idol of instant gratification convinces us that it is okay to disobey God. There are three factors that make us especially vulnerable to this imposter. One is stressful circumstances; when the pressure’s on we’re more likely to put our wants and needs ahead of everything. Second, selfish Impatience, we just can’t or don’t want to wait for God’s timing. The third is sinful defiance; in our impatience, we take matters into our own hands and take it out of God’s hands. We do what we want, willingly disobeying God. We’re not willing to wait upon the Lord to commit it to God. We’re not willing to accept whatever answer God may send. Bowing down to the God of instant gratification by making ungodly choices brings loss, not gain. The number one commandment still is and always will be “You shall have no other gods before me”. There is good reason for that. God Loves Ya 😉
