Matthew 2:1-12 (NIV)

Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh – have you ever wondered, was there symbolism of what the three magi brought as gifts to the baby Jesus?  Some scholars and theologians believe in addition to the honor and status implied by the value of the gifts, these three were chosen for their special spiritual symbolism about Jesus himself. Gold representing his kingship, frankincense a symbol of his priestly role, and myrrh a prefiguring of his death and embalming—an interpretation made popular in the well-known Christmas carol “We Three Kings.” There is always a plan. God has it all planned out, this is just another example of why we don’t have to worry about our future; he has a plan for us and even when we get in the way of the plan, he makes all things work out. Sometimes when things happen to us now, we don’t understand why; it will make sense later, all we have to do is trust and walk in obedience. God Loves Ya 😉
