Acts 1:1-15
God gave us “church”: a gathering of fellow believers. It is demonstrated many times in the bible that we are not meant to be alone on this earth; that we have brothers and sisters in Christ to help encourage and inspire us. Some examples are: Jesus had 12 disciples that spread the gospel and transformed the world, four men carried and lowered a paralyzed man through a hole in the roof just so he could get in front of Jesus (Mark 2:4), the list can go on and on. Church is where we can “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2) “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:25) In today’s world, that gathering place is the church! Church is essential to our growth, strength and our expression of love for our amazing God. It is also a place where we can gather in prayer; “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20) We cannot tackle this world with a lone ranger mentality; God always gives us a side kick. So, if you don’t have a church, find one. It is essential. God loves Ya;)
